Deposit Policy

• A 50% deposit of the total stay is required to confirm the reservation.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund of the deposit.
• Cancellations made 7 to 14 days prior to the arrival date will receive a 50% refund of the deposit.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to arrival, including cancellations within 24 hours of arrival, are non-refundable.

Additional Notes

• Any applicable refunds will be issued using the original payment method.
• In cases of documented force majeure (such as medical emergencies or natural events), the host may, at their discretion, consider exceptions in good faith.

The cleaning fee is included in the cost of the rental for daily and weekly stays. For monthly stays, there is an optional weekly cleaning fee of $75.

Your chef handles everything, from sourcing fresh local ingredients to preparing, serving, and cleaning up, so you can fully relax and enjoy your time in Costa Rica. What the Service Entails

If you want to include a chef to cook your meal(s) the service includes the following:

• Grocery Shopping: Local ingredients are sourced, often visiting farmers and local markets for the freshest tropical fruits and "catch of the day" seafood.
• Meal Preparation & Plating: Everything is prepared in your home's kitchen.
• Table Service: The table will be set for you and your guests or family at each course.
• Complete Cleanup: This is the biggest "luxury" for many—the chef ensures the kitchen is spotless and dishes are washed before they leave.

Meal Availability & Timing

Meal times are generally flexible, but they operate within "service windows" to ensure they have time for shopping and prep between meals.

Typical Service Windows:

• Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM. The chef typically arrives 45–60 minutes prior to your requested "sit-down" time to start the coffee and prep.
• Lunch: 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. This is often the most flexible window, as many guests are out on tours.
• Dinner: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Most chefs aim to finish service and cleanup by 9:00 PM. If you want a late-night multi-course dinner, you may need to pay a "late service" premium.

Things to Consider

• Advance Notice: Try to book this service at least 2 weeks in advance, especially during the High Season (December–April).
• Cash is King: We can accept payment using PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or SINPE (if you have a Costa Rican bank account), but prefer grocery reimbursement in cash (USD or Colones) so they can pay local vendors at the market. Cash works best!

Typical Costs

This service is a per-person rate. The cost of groceries is extra and we will give you a receipt showing the exact cost. The per person cost is $15, $20, and $25 respectively for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The table below uses an example price for six people:
